  1.  Preheat the oven to 175 degrees (convection 160 degrees). Beat 200 g soft butter (or margarine), 200 g sugar and a pinch of salt with the hand mixer for at least 5 minutes until frothy. Add 4 eggs (class M) one after the other and stir in for 1⁄2 minute each time. Mix 300 g flour and 2 teaspoons of baking powder and quickly stir in alternately with 8 tablespoons of milk.
  2.  Remove 2/3 from the dough. Mix 15 g cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon sugar and stir into the rest of the batter, together with 3 tablespoons milk.
  3.  Pour half of the light-colored dough into a greased loaf pan (1 l capacity, 30 cm). Pour in the dark dough and finally the remaining light dough. Pull a fork through the dough in a spiral to create a marble pattern.
  4.  Bake in the hot oven on a grid in the lower third of the oven for 50-60 minutes. Take out of the oven and leave in the tin for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack and let cool down. Melt 150 g cake icing according to the instructions on the packet and brush the cake with it.
