Recipe for Beef lemonade

How to serve traditional beef lemonade
Traditionally the beef lemonade is served with rice or french fries. On cold winter days the beef lemonade together with hot mashed potatoes is the ideal combination for a rich, filling dish. Do not forget to always have fresh bread for the necessary dips in its aromatic sauce.


1-1.2 kg beef in pieces (scallop)
2 dried onions, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
juice of 2-4 lemons (depending on how strong you want the taste)
2 tbsp. Dried oregano
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 cup white dry wine (optional)
salt and freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp. Fresh thyme


To prepare this delicious recipe for beef lemonade, heat the oil in a saucepan, add the meat in portions and fry it until all sides of the meat are golden brown. Do not put the meat all together – it is better to do it in portions, so that the temperature is kept high and the meat is shielded and retains its juices. When done, add the chopped onion and garlic and fry for another 2 minutes.
Add the wine and wait for it to evaporate. Add the lemon juice, oregano, thyme, salt and pepper and enough hot water to evenly cover the meat.
Lower the heat and simmer for at least 1-1.5 hours.
Serve with mashed potatoes, basmati rice or french fries. Have fun!
